Following the latest Government announcement, as of 5th November, it is with deep regret that we will close our doors once more. We will however continue to offer our takeaway and delivery service, which is already in operation.
You will shortly be able to order online - keep an eye on our social media and website for updates on this.
Our team are working hard behind the scenes to contact anyone with bookings between 5th November and 2nd December.
A message from Joe Tansley, Owner, The Bell & Cross.
The health and safety of not just our customers but also our team, has and always will be, a priority at The Bell and Cross. We are therefore committed to ensure that the strictest health and safety measures are put in place and will continue to uphold the highest standards of hygiene throughout our pub.
We strictly adhere to the advice and updates from Public Health England and the Government and will uphold all new measures within our establishment. This includes the rule of 6 as well as the 10pm closure. Customers not willing to abide by these rules will be asked to leave and any abuse towards our staff will not be tolerated. These are challenging times and we’re working tirelessly behind the scenes so that you feel confident and safe when dining with us.
Our team continue to follow existing food hygiene guidance provided by the Food Standards Agency as a minimum requirement and our kitchen maintains its 5-star Health and Safety rating from the Environmental Health Office.
I’d like to thank you for your continued support during these difficult months and look forward to welcoming you very soon.

Inside we have reduced table numbers to ensure correct social distancing and invested in discrete protective partitions, situated between tables.
Our team has received specific Covid-19 training and wear masks throughout the pub, both inside and outside. They have access to handwashing facilities and are encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly and regularly. We operate a strict illness reporting procedure and all staff are temperature checked when entering the pub.
