We pride ourselves on creating modern British cuisine.

Dependent on how hungry you are feeling, we offer an amazing À la carte/pre fix menu, as well as a light bites menu for the smaller appetites. Whichever you choose, will be complemented by our exclusive wine menu.

Our Menus

Dining at the Bell & Cross is a celebration of high quality modern British food. Below are our sample menus so you can get a taste of what we offer. The menus at The Bell & Cross change on a seasonal basis, but this will give you a flavour.

If you would like bread for the table, please ask your server. Bread will be charged at £1.25 per head.


Bread and Olive selection


Chargrilled focaccia, chimichurri, confit garlic and Kefalonian style marinated olives.

Twice Baked Souffle (V)


Gruyere, parmesan and red Leicester twice baked souffle, gratinated with a wholegrain mustard cream.

Singapore Chili Prawns


King prawns sautéed in chilli, ginger and garlic. Finished with a lightly spiced tomato based sauce.

Pea & Mint Soup (V)


Persian feta, smashed peas, lemon and chili served with chargrilled focaccia.

Soft Shell Crab


Salt & pepper tempura Soft Shell Crab, confit garlic aioli, tomato & smoked chili relish, sesame seeds. Served with a shallot, chilli & coriander salad.



Lightly blanched and buttered asparagus, soft poached hens egg, prosciutto and parmesan crisps, hollandaise sauce and cayenne pepper.

Warm Salad


Sautéed Ham Hock, potatoes and smoked chicken salad, with broad beans and crispy hens egg. Served with a mustard vinaigrette.

Moules Mariniere


Cornish mussels, garlic, parsley, white wine and cream served with chargrilled focaccia bread.



Seared fillets of Mackerel, pickled and burnt cucumber, rhubarb puree, squid ink rice crackers, herb oil and micro leaves.

Tapas en Meze (To share)


Lamb koftas, falafels, hummus, olives, smoked garlic aioli, chargrilled marinated vegetables and olives. Served with pitta breads and focaccia.



Pan seared Scallops, fennel puree, chargrilled baby leek, braised baby fennel, baby courgette, chorizo crumb, herb oil and crispy onions.

Tagliatelle (V)


Asparagus, pea, courgette, lemon pesto and chargrilled spring vegetable tagliatelle, with pangritatta.

Aubergine Parmigiana (V)


Crispy aubergine, aromatic tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella, gruyere, parmesan & mixed leaf salad.

Lobster & Rabbit Fricasse


Sautéed rabbit and poached lobster fricassee, buttered tagliatelle, tarragon, broad beans and peas.

Lamb Rump


Chargrilled Irish Lamb Rump, chargrilled marinated vegetable cous cous, garlic roasted baby potatoes, salsa verde, herb oil and harissa oil.

Tornado Rossini


8 oz. Chargrilled fillet of Herefordshire beef, dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed duck liver on a garlic crostini, seared goose liver, madeira and shallot sauce. With nutmeg creamed spinach and king oyster mushroom.



Pan roasted fillet of Hake, asparagus and wild garlic velouté. Served with pomme anna, crab fritter and crab, lemon and chili vinagerette.

Beef Short Rib


12 hour home smoked beef short rib, bell and cross BBQ glaze, red cabbage slaw and fries.



Pan roasted Monkfish tail, curried mussel velouté. Served on a bed of potato, celeriac and leeks. With chili, spring onion and sesame.

Flat Iron


Chargrilled Flat Iron steak, café de paris butter, rocket and parmesan salad and truffled chips.



Tempura fillets of Plaice, smashed peas, chargrilled zucchini, mint, Persian feta and pea shoot salad, crispy capers and skinny fries.



Pan roasted loin of Venison, celeriac puree, dauphinoise potatoes. Served with crispy ham hock, cavelo nero and mustard seed salad and a spiced game jus.

Trio of Pork


Ham hock and cabbage fricassee, bourdin noir and charred loin of pork. Served with roasted baby apple, spiced apple puree, creamed potato and a cider apple jus.
All our dishes are created as whole plates of food, however if you would like a little extra (£2.50)
